Recently, Congress passed an appropriations package that provides USDA funding to implement Electronic Animal ID (EID) Tags for breeding livestock. The funding will help pay for infrastructure and limit the cost that producers will have to pay as USDA transitions its Federal Animal Disease Traceability (ADT) protocol for items like metal Bang Vaccination tags to an EID button.
